SIPS Organises Teachers’ Enrichment Session on Communication

Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib organised a teachers’ enrichment programme on effective communication skills. The resource person for the day was Ms Rohini Bhat, Senior Product Specialist and Trainer with Orient Blackswan Pvt. Ltd.
Ms Bhat, who has a long line of experience as a senior editor and language trainer, also working for South-east Asian students, stressed upon the need to focus on varied channels of communication for teaching faculty i.e. students, colleagues, administration and parents. While interacting with the teachers she also put forward the essentials of a learner’s accomplishments provided a teacher is an excellent communicator. Exploiting the potential a learner should be the core area of an effective classroom communication. She said that verbal as well as non-verbal communication skills play an equally vital role. The charismatic effect of the 7-C’s : clear, concise, concrete, correct, coherent, courteous and complete was also talked about in the session.
Individual as well as group activities were conducted to make the session interesting wherein teachers put forward their ideas as well as queries pertaining to their classroom adaptability.
