STEPHENS HOSTS CBSE KABADDI CLUSTER XVI-2018 CLOSING CEREMONY

The three days exhilarating event of CBSE Kabaddi Cluster XVI commenced on Oct 5, 2018 and culminated on Oct 7, 2018 with great zeal and zest. 400 participants from 20 Schools participated in it. Sh. Kavinder Gupta, Ex- Deputy CM (J&K) graced the event with his benign presence. He was given warm welcome by the management. It was really an encouraging event for the players as he motivated the players and told them about the importance of Kabaddi. He lauded the efforts of the school management, staff and students in arranging such a stupendous Sports show. He also inspired the young minds to be physically fit by involving in one or the other sports activity and keeping away from the menace of the drugs. He further stated that “To be inspired is great but to be an inspiration is an honour.” Chairman Dr. Kamal Saini, Retd. IGP (IPS) welcomed the guests by presenting them the bouquets. The valedictory function began with the invocation of the Almighty by the Director Ms. Satvinder Saini. She spoke about the importance of sports in the lives of students and suggested them to set their targets with positive attitude. She further stated that this Kabaddi tournament is not only for the declaration of Kabaddi winners but also the amalgamation of various states, their cultures and values. In these three days they exchanged their ideas, and felt brotherhood.
Principal Mr. Manoj Agnihotri welcomed all and admired the disciplined behavior of the participants. He appreciated the work of the budding sports stars. He also explained a key to open the knots of all fields by opting discipline, hardwork and by keeping positive attitude. Dean Academics, Ms. Rama Jamwal insisted that the balance should be maintained between the games and academics. She guided students towards the hard work which is a key to success. Present on the occasion were also Vice Chairman Mr. Amarjeet Singh, Headmistress Mrs Inderjeet Kour and eminent, distinguished guests.
Mr. Gurdeep Singh, (HOD Sports) Mr. Muneshwar Jamwal and Mr Gourav Kumar, the school PTI’s organized and managed the cluster in a meticulous manner. The chief referee, Mr. Ankush Gupta and his team from the J&K Sports Council enthusiastically supported the cluster for 3 consecutive days. All of them did their duties with great enthusiasm and completed this event with perfection. Then the prizes were given by the Chief guest to the proud winners.
At the end there was the declaration of closing ceremony which was marked by the traditional method of folding of the flag. The event was closed with the vote of thanks and singing of National Anthem amidst the round of applause for the champions.
