Independence Day was celebrated with nationalistic fervour on Tuesday 14 - August 2018 in Stephens International Public School (SIPS).The function was presided by Mrs Satvinder Saini (Director of SIPS) Mr Manoj Kumar Agnihotri (Principal of SIPS), Mrs Rama Jamwal (Dean Academics) and Mrs Inderjeet Kaur (Headmistress of SIPS )
The special assembly commenced with the pledge highlighting the Indian heritage and identity. The mainstay of the function was the melodious medley of patriotic songs and dance by children. The school corridors and classrooms innovatively adorned the colours of the national flag adding to the joy of this special festival of freedom.
The students presented a beautiful skit showcasing the sacrifices laid down by great freedom fighter and their contribution in achieving independence.
Mr Manoj Kumar Agnihotri (Principal SIPS) addressed the assembly and shared details about India’s struggle for independence and freedom with the students and urged them to keep the flag of the nation flying high as the citizens of tomorrow. Indeed, it was a day of elation, a day of love and respect for the country instilling in the students the value and reverence for the freedom.
