ORGANISES DRUG ADDICTION AWARENESS LECTURE.

Stephens International Public School in collaboration with GMC Jammu organised Drug Addiction Awareness Lecture to combat the rising issue of drug addiction among youth. The Drug Addiction Awareness Lecture witnessed the participation of over 30 second year MBBS students along with the dedicated faculty members and medical professionals from GMC Jammu, Dr Mehak (Senior Resident), Dr Raheel (PG Student) and Mr Ajay Senior PHA). Adv. Kunal Saini (Trustee SIPS), Mrs Rama Jamwal (Principal SIPS), Dr Manjari Sehgal (Vice Principal SIPS) were also present on the occasion.
The session covered a wide range of topics, including recognizing early signs of addiction, understanding the impact on physical and mental health, effective communication strategies, and available support systems for those seeking help.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, practical demonstrations were organized to provide a comprehensive understanding of the harmful effects of drugs on the human body. Medical professionals conducted engaging experiments and showcased visual aids, illustrating the detrimental consequences of substance abuse on vital organs, cognitive abilities, and overall well-being.
Adv Kunal Saini, Trustee SIPS, expressed gratitude towards GMC Jammu for taking the initiative to organize this impactful event and highlighted the significance of such programs in creating a drug-free environment within educational institutions.
