Stephens International Public School Conducts Sahodaya Inter School Dance Competition
Stephens International Public School Jammu organised Inter School Folk Dance Competition, Nritya-Kala under the aegis of Sahodaya Schools Complex Jammu on 5th November 2022.
The event was organised to offer a platform to all dance enthusiasts who are passionate about the folk dances of the country.
Twenty-two reputed schools of Jammu region participated in the competition with great zeal and enthusiasm. The programme started with the lighting of lamp followed by a riveting Ganesh Vandana performed by the students of the school.
Mr. Amarjeet Singh, Vice-Chairperson, Stephens International Public School Jammu, graced the occasion as Chief Guest while Mr. Kunal Saini, Trustee Stephens International Public School and Director Stephens Institutes of Nursing College was the Guest of Honour for the event. The special guest for the occasion was Ms. Seema Sambyal, Principal Holy Presentation Convent Kathua.
The panel of jury included renowned Dance Masters and Choreographers of Jammu like Mr Anil Gupta (Director Friends Dance Institute), Ms. Ashu Kotwal (renowned choreographer) and Mr. Sonu Taneja (MD Jazz Boss Records). The experts observed the performance of each group with utmost precision while the students of the participating schools enthralled the audience with their riveting performances and tried their best to figure on top and contested to win the trophies.
Principal of the school, Mrs Rama Jamwal, Vice-Principal of the School Dr. Kaajal Bhasin, and HM Mrs Shweta Bakshi extended bouquets as a welcome gesture to all the dignitaries.
Mrs Rama Jamwal, Principal of the school extended gratitude to the Chief Guest, other dignitaries and the jury members. She appreciated the efforts of the participating students who glorified the event with their colorful attires and mountainous energy.
In his address to the gathering, Mr. Kunal Saini stressed on the importance of culture and the need to establish the appreciation for our traditions and culture in the hearts of the new generation and reinforce the same by organising more such events.
The first prize was bagged by APS Jammu Cantt while the second prize was shared by Stephens International Public School and G D Goenka School and DPS Kathua was declared third. First, second and third Consolation prizes were given to Presentation Convent School Jammu, Doon International School Jammu and JK Public School Jammu respectively.
The Chief Guest and the jury members handed over the trophies and certificates to the winning schools and the participants respectively.
Chairman Stephens International Public School, Dr. Kamal Saini, IGP (Retd.), and Director Mrs Satvinder Saini appreciated the efforts of the participants and congratulated the achievers on their success.
The event concluded with singing of the National Anthem.
